Timaru
There are perhaps several reasons for flying to Timaru. One of these may be to take aircraft for maintenance to the friendly folk at Avtek.
As you might expect at an airport named after Richard Pierce (sp?), there is an aircraft museum open Sundays(?) only, or by prior arrangement.
The South Canterbury Aero Club ? is at Timaru where the CFI is our very own Naama Gueta ?.
If you find yourself there overnight then a cheap, cheerful and clean (but don't look in the fridge) place is the Elizabeth Court Guest House. Bed & cooked breakfast, $60 single. 39 Elizabeth St. 10 mins walk from the Old Bank, a restaurant/bar in town (horrible burgers).
Taxi: Timaru Taxis 03-6-88-88-99
