Instructing

To qualify for employment with us (and practically any other local operator) a minimum of 50 hours local experience time is required which includes Milford, Mt Cook ^?, route checks, mountain flying, strip training, beach training etc. The Instructors Course of 25 hours cannot be incorporated into the 50 hours local experience.

Our 'C' Instructor training involves the following components:

• Membership
• 25hrs dual training 'C' Cat ground course
• Instructional Technique Course
• CAA Flight Test
• CAA Issue
• One hour spin training

Total approximate cost: NZD$ 7,000

Instructing for Wakatipu Aero Club involves pilots in a broad range of experiences which rely on local knowledge. Thus it is necessary to have completed this experience as our syllabus extends beyond the minimum CAA licence requirements. We are interested in candidates motivated to be instructors who not just view instructing as a means of building hours. If you have commitment, are responsible, have initiative and personality, enjoy a challenge with a huge learning curve, then you should be commencing your instructors rating with us.
